{"id":439,"date":"2021-11-11T01:11:04","date_gmt":"2021-11-11T01:11:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.moonsmind.org\/rufuskrisp\/?page_id=439"},"modified":"2025-03-10T08:14:08","modified_gmt":"2025-03-10T08:14:08","slug":"dedication","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.rufuskrisp.com\/index.php\/dedication\/","title":{"rendered":"Dedication"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>This site is dedicated in tribute to our dear two fallen&nbsp;comrades &#8230;&nbsp;Jamie Kibben and Spencer Bohren<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-black-background-color has-text-color has-background has-medium-font-size\"><br><strong>JAIME KIBBEN &nbsp;1947 \u2014 2003<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.moonsmind.org\/rufuskrisp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/jaimie_kibben.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-443\" style=\"width:303px;height:451px\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jaime Kibben<\/strong> was the illustrious piano player in <strong>Rufus Krisp<\/strong> and <strong>Gone Johnson<\/strong>. &nbsp;At just 55 &nbsp;Jaime was tragically killed in an Israeli taxi accident while making a documentary to further the middle east peace process. &nbsp;<em>I<strong>llustrious<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;is not just used as a throw-away for <strong>Jaime Kibben<\/strong>, it truly describes this talent\u2019s energetic, creative, inimitable style. &nbsp;His lust for life and music made him a complete entertainer.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sitting cocked on his seat Jaime would boogie hard on his semi-portable <strong>Baldwin E-88<\/strong> piano, replete with a plexi front he installed so fans could see it\u2019s most special quality in action \u2014 &nbsp;hammers hitting REAL STRINGS!!! &nbsp;Was ANY other band crazy enough to take a stringed piano on tour, tracking down random piano tuners in random towns? &nbsp;Ah no. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>James Huber Kibben<\/strong> grew up in South Dakota, toured with <strong>Sonny and Cher<\/strong> and<strong> Spanky and Our Gang<\/strong> before joining <strong>Rufus Krisp<\/strong> in Boulder. &nbsp;Later moving to the west coast as a film soundman Jaime got an Emmy nomination, shot in Cuba and six years as sound engineer with the <strong>PBS McNeil-Lehrer Newshour<\/strong> working in 10 countries. &nbsp;His film team was booted from Haiti and they did very early reporting from enshrouded Cambodia. &nbsp;Many know his sound work from the fascinating documentary&nbsp;<em><strong>Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We loved everything about Jaime \u2014 he juggled, rode a unicycle up a mountain and it took nothing for him to just make people happy and laugh. &nbsp;A huge contribution to the band, to our lives and deeply sorry he cannot enjoy his work and friends and fans through this website. Cancer finally stopped his endless touring, but the adoration they have for him stateside and overseas with 20 solo albums on 10 record labels live strong.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>Spencer<\/strong> played everything stringed, his deep soul rested in the blues and gospel, even has a son named <strong>Django<\/strong>. After his Rufus Krisp \/ Gone Johnson days Spencer continued trekking south to the New Orleans delta mud to dig in deep to music he\u2019d spend decades as a storyteller educating the world to know.
